A long drive in time thanks to the enormous amount of roadworks en-route, I think we only saw two that actually had people working at the so called road works. Delays all the way and satnav could not seem to find a way round it.
However despite the heat, though the car was lovely and cool, we persevered to Little Morton Hall, a really pretty hall with an excellent cafe serving real food and not prepackaged muck.
From there we drove a few miles to Biddulph Grange Gardens and a shorter walk as by now we were flagging in the heat.
